Evaluation: AWP vs. Scout

Are there advantages of using a scout over an AWP? I mean... obviously the AWP almost always gives you a one-shot kill, but you need to lug around that thousand pound gun. You could run with it on your back, but sometimes you get flanked and have no time to put it in your hands. On the other side of the spectrum, the scout sports the same characteristics as a USP--light weight, quick reload, fast shot. You can always run with a scout in your arms without sacrificing speed.

Scout -- better suited for the close range; weak; quick
AWP -- better suited for the long range; powerful; slow

is this thread necessary? awp is better. now you can go to bed happy. and how is scout better close range? you hit them once, maybe, then they kill you. awp you can fire pretty incredibly fast if quickswitching, and its a lot more powerful. its a more accurate more powerful more useful gun. the only way the scout is better is because its cheaper. but so is the glock.

awps are not noob cannons, scouts are not skill. the people who say this dont actually understand the game or the weapons. if scoutstaketrue skill, why are the best players in the world awpers and notscouters. why will the worlds best scouter nver be better that the worlds best awper. whyare there epic 5 mans with awp, but not with scout. because the scout is a bad gun, and people who whine about the awp, because they cant use it, run to the scout because its a more "skilled" weapon. except its not, just they can use it, andit doesnt kill them as readily. awp is the best gun in the game, and not a noob cannon, put ones in the hands of someone bad and its useless. in the hands of someone good, its devastating, whereas a scoutis never devestating.

scout:
pro: easier to no scope, faster, cheaper, you can actually move while shooting
con: not as accurate as the awp. i find you usually need to be double scoped and crouched for it to be pinpoint accurate.
takes two hits to kill

awp:
Pro: accurate so long as you aren't moving. 1 hit kill
con: really expensive
it is in fact hard to learn how to use well

basically awp is the best and if you call it a noob cannon you are in fact simply showing your lack of experience with it

AWP is a good gun yes but i prefer the scout because i like to run around i also love to no scope which can be hard with the awp considering you cant move with it or u will miss not only that people who cant awp is usually to do with they are more of the rushing type an scouts can be used for more rushing then the awp which i rather rush then camp thats y i join the rushing team because waiting for people are boring but in fact i am a good awper and the thing is both of them take skill because if you try to use an awp when moving then your not gonna kill anything plus u have to be good at moving the gun while your scoped the main fact both guns are good.

Plus im good at gettin HS with the scout so it is very use full in my hands also
if you move to fast for the people that awp then you can kill them with a scout but someone very skilled with the awp can catch up to you no matter how fast you move so really to me its a tie.

What are your proofs then ??? You can't give your conclusion before giving us some facts, otherwise that's just spamming the thread, so if I look at what you wrote awp's are noob cannons, so ALL the people that play in cal are noobs ??
It looks like that you are the noob, you have maybe tried the awp, you got mad because you couldn't kill anything and because people were better than you with it, you finally conclude that it was a noob cannon. I don't say to stop using scout, the scout IS the fastest weapon, FASTER than the knife, which is the opposite for the awp, and sometimes, with the awp, you won't kill someone in 1 shot, you can do 85 dmg to someone. If you don't use it IDC, but if you only play on the assault map I understand...

I've seen people argue about this same thing so many times,
In my opinion I find the awp to be better than the scout, mainly because it has a one shot kill.
The only downside to the awp is the fact that it causes you to walk slower and can not shoot as fast as the scout.
The scout is a good weapon but if you are against an awper then your only chance is to get a headshot, while the awper can hit you pretty much anywhere

ok this is very easy everyone has there own opinions about which sniping weapon is better. there r some times were i scout and others when i awp. wat i do is i use the scout to practice sniping quick then when i have my skill up i will use the awp because now i know how to effectively kill the enemy while sniping in most postions.

Here are my two cents

Heres my reasons why.

Awp-does take skill. Try getting somewhere in cal without one. For close combat, you have a deagle/glock/usp with you. Awps are awesome if you can use them right. I want to see a person that has never touched an awp (one with no skill of course) use quickswitch and win a match when you are the only one left on your team. Same goes for a pub.

Scout-imo sucks against awp ( but still takes skill to use ), unless you aim for the head which you should do anyways since it only does 60-80 dmg per hit. It CAN be a 1 hit kill also, if they have under 70hp. Scouts are known for their noscope headshots also, so you dont necisarily need to run with your pistol. Scouts are so much faster than awps, expecially since you can move while shooting and still hit someone. ( try strafing and pull off an awp headshot :P )

Btw I own harder with scout than with an awp. Thats why I use awp so much. To get better.

i believe that not only is the scout weaker, or make you walk quicker...but the bullet travels quicker than the AWP and has quicker response(power full does not mean faster - caliber determines the power/damage). so a pro AWPer vs. a pro Scouter(headshot only) = no doubt, that AWPers going down!!!

lol. neither bullets travel faster. all bullets in css hit instantly, there is no delay time, so what you just said is absolute rubbish. pro awper beats a scouter anytime.
