I'm a big RPG fan - and what kind of RPG fan would I be without my dose of Final Fantasy? I prefer the older titles back before graphics were of such a big concern in games, so my question to you is which one is your favorite?

In order, these are my top 5 FF games.

FF6 (SNES)
FF:Tactics (Playstation)
FF7 (Playstation)
FF9 (Playstation)
FF4 (SNES)

Which Final Fantasies do you like and why?

I'm not sure my numbers jive with yours, but my favorites:
FFIII (SNES) with Espers and such (Japanese VI)
FFVII (PC) with Cloud as lead
FFX (PS2)
FFXII (PS2)
FFIII (DS) (Japanese III, not US)

Oddly enough, I don't think I have actually completed XII or the DS versions. I got so caught up in finishing all the little side stuff and gathering weapons that I never felt like going on that final several-hour battle. I haven't played either tactics or the MMO.

The storylines in the older versions were great, but I think I really enjoyed the new ones too. I also really enjoyed the MMO, altho it was a bit slow and too team oriented which sucks if u can't find people to party with and u want to lvl up o_0

in no particular order my favs are
FFVII (PS2)
FFIX (PS2)
FFX (PS2)
FFXI (PC)
FFVII: Crisis Core (PSP)

But all in all I haven't played a single FF game I didn't really like. Best RPG series ever :P

Well our top one is the same :P
I use the Japanese numbering system because it's all screwed up (VI is 3 in US and IV is 2 - what a mess)
Yeah the MMO never really caught on with me though I never really gave it a chance I only played it on my roommates computer and never saw the Final Fantasy uniqueness like all the others. Just seemed like EQ2 with FF references...

I like FF7 alot but I find FF6 a really great game.
FF6 has so many extra's and side missions it gets confusing.

I consider Final Fantasy the best series of games ever, screw Mario...

I like pretty much all of the Final Fantasys but I'm gonna have to go with FF8, FF7, FF10, FF9, and FF Tactics (the one for the Playstation) in that order.

I never really played the older ones, guess it's because I'm just not old enough to have...

But since we are naming our favorites, I'm gonna name my least favorite: FFX-2. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it's just why do I want to spend time playing a game where I dress up three girls?

Anyone else have Nobuo Uematsu on their iPod? :D

I consider my self an FF fan, but more of an RPG fan all together..

Growing up with such classics such as .. Suikoden I and II
Vandal Hearts 1 and 2

But Final Fantasy my fave will always be FF8, its a shame my PSP for some reason won't play it :( so i'm currently re-playing FF9

I'm waiting for my DS to arrive so I can start playing some of em. Ordered it online and had to RMA it. :( Tactics is pretty good you should try it out Dwinx. I've only played 1 and 2 and Tactics so far unfortunately I'm FF deprived. Can't wait for my DS so I can try out some of the newer ones.

He is on my I-Pod and on my Pandora Radio channel.
Vudoo - you should really get a SNES and FF4 & 6. You won't regret it. I know you would like 6 because you like Chrono Trigger.

I had an SNES I was just really, really young. I played Mario and Duck Hunt except I cheated with Duck Hunt cause I would go really close to the TV. :D

My favorite one of all time is VII! I started out with III which I think it's VI in Japan or here...ugh, confused a bit, but it was on the SNES and I remember one of the chars, Locki (i think) and Terra. That's the game that got me hooked on the FF series...good ol' times! I liked 9 but part 8...eh, I wont get into it and I wasn't a big fan of X but I am a fan of X-2 lol. Figures right? ;) Anyways, good series!

I remember spending days on end playing Final Fantasy games on my Play Station.......

The cut scenes were seriously impressive as were the special effects of your attacks.

I think the biggest failing on them, looking back, was the serious time it took to play out battles.

I still remember chocobo bird racing amongst other strange sub games though :)

Dodging lightening in FFX was the most annoying, ridiculous side quest. You needed like 250 to get Lulu's ultimate weapon and I would always get to like 235 only to be hit by lightening and start all over again...

Oh that sidequest...it probably made me stay away from the game entirely lol. It's good for a while until you get far and start all over...then it gets boring...

I remember attempting that once... getting to about 17 and just thinking how ridiculous it was and never trying again.
