What GPU are you running?

Hi,

What GPUs are you running?

Are you an nVidia guy or an ATi guy?

Im interested.

For me its a nVidia MX 420 AGP 4x. I get about 20-50 fps on cs_assault. Im planning on building a gaming rig over the summer so I can get some reasonable fps on games.

3DFX Voodoo2 12 meg 3D Accelerator
Intel Extreme Graphics 845GL 64 Meg Shared
XtasyRadeon 9200SE PCI 128 Meg
NVidea GeForce 2 MX400 AGP (4x i think?)
Some other NV I forget the series, wasa 64 meg PCI card
ATi IGP345M 8-128 Meg Shared (Laptop) "IGP"
NVidea GeForce 4 4200Ti AGP8X
Sapphire Radeon 9500 (Non pro, unlocked pipes to a radeon 9700) AGP8X

Currently I run a Sapphire Radeon X1600PRO 256Mb AGP8x. It is an unstable, unoverclockable, overheating lump of metal that can barely pull me through the 100FPS barrier in Source, and drops to about 40 (Now it drops to 20 on Assault, as I recently burnt out a channel of memory)

If I had to choose any of the cards listed above, I would take the GeForce 4200Ti, or the Radeon 9500. Those are the best cards I have ever owned.

Nvidia all the way....have tried ATI cards and hated them...
currently running a BFG 7800GT OC pci-X
last one was a Leadtek 6800 AGP

before that I was too much of a noob to know lol

OH I forgot!

I had the VooDoo3 3500 with the TV Tuner in it, though I only used it for the tuner at the time. Very nice card!
I also had a 128meg Sapphire Radeon 8500. That card burnt out, a few weeks after the fan died.
And I've had like 3 ATi Mobility Radeon's with the 8Mb mem

List the ones I've used? F that.. I am getting too f'in old to remember that sort of data off thetop of my head.. call me in a week when i get a chance to go through my builds from my first 80806..

However, now, i have my Asus 7800 GTX Go and an ATI X800 card that i'm currently scrapping for parts to set up a second system.

(modded case is started and will take me years at the rate I'm going, but i just picked up my Big Water 735 with an extra radiator and Danger Den VGA water block for the 7800 GTX so more to come when i figure out what I'm putting in what system)

Good news!

Since I am stuck with PCI and my options are limited I got the best PCI GPU money can buy.

I got a PNY FX5200 PCI 256MB. It runs CSS and AA great. PNY wouldnt have been my first pick but my options are limited.

Why u buy that card tho if ur options are limited.. Just save up and play with w/e frames u were getting and get a kick azz 7900 x2 nvidia or the G80's after direct x 10 [8D].

Well the fx5200 cant play css for shit so I am getting a diamond stealth 9250 pci. If i want a pci x16 lane then I need a new motherboard then that leads to a new processor because I would want to go AMD then a more expensive video card then differnet memory then a new psu because the power demand goes way up. At that point I am up to $600 to overhaul the computer.

As long as this 9250 can play Css at a decent framerate I will be happy. Plus I also just ordered this sweet 20.1 Samsung Lcd. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001226
