Default Nvidia nForce drivers

My mobo runs those, and I've been having some issues, I think, with my internet connection. Since the drivers that came with the mobo are old (from like 2005), I went ahead and dl'd the newest nForce drivers from nVidia's site and have unzipped it.

Now, do I have to uninstall all the previous drivers like I would have to with the video card drivers? Or just run the setup?

I've never uninstalled drivers from my system (lol.). I still have ATI drivers from my old motherboard (had a ATI X200 chipset 2 motherboards ago), I never have problems, and I'm on a NVidia 680i now, and was on a nforce4 before this...

Go ahead and install it, should be fine

just "remove hardware" under device manager and install the new drivers, if you reboot and the new drivers aren't recognized, the old drivers should load up. Also, you really can't go wrong if you set a system restore point

best of luck.

Yes you need to uninstall ALL the old nvidia graphics programmes from the add and remove programmes screen mate.

Make sure the new unzipped programme is in the middle of your desktop first.

When you reboot the laptop will use default graphics mode and you then run the set up of the new drivers.

Make sure you checkthe site for any known conflicts first as the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI have some DX9 conflicts

Raven, these are Nvidia NForce Chipset Drivers, not Display Drivers

My bad and apologies.

I'm under the weather but that's not really an excuse

Always uninstall the old drivers first, but before that put a restauration point in the help and support program, after that if you want to know if you have installed it right, go to start panel, execute, type: DXDIAG, go to display page, and look at the display driver, the date is important too if your in 2007 and the display driver is 2004 there's a problem. Also look if the acceleration things are actived, test direct draw + direct 3d and your done .

Pssh Razr, these are chipset drivers not display drivers, so the bit about dxdiag does not apply to him

I've already installed the new chipset drivers, without any problems so far, so thanks for the replies everyone

PS - my video card driver's up to date when I checked it this weekend
