Default The Whole Mouse Thing

I could have sworn I saw a thread about gaming mice, but I can't find it now for some reason...

Anyway, I decided my mouse is garbage. It's a generic Microsoft laser 3-button mouse. I noticed this morning that it kinda ...goes crazy, I guess. I'll be standin there watchin a door or somethin, and it'll spasm off in a random direction. The fact that I play CS with 7.0 sensitivity doesn't help, so I decided I want to buy a new mouse. I really dont use my compy for anything but gaming, so all I really care about is getting one made for gaming. lol

I've heard about some of these mice that allow you to adjust their weight? I think that would be pretty nice... this Microsoft mouse is almost annoyingly light.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks guys and gals. =D

I live (and die) by my Razer Diamondback mouse dude.

It's not overly large and has 7 buttons which can be individually programmed. It has on-the-fly sensitivity and looks pretty darn smart too.

However their are a few decent mice on the market at the moment. I suggest you look at setting a cost limit and then reviewing a fair few gaming mice to see what others say.

MICROSOFT INTELIPOINT 5 BUTTON OPTICAL FTW ZOMG!

4+ years of constant abuse, spills, drops, being used as an ash tray, and of course...the most hardcore of all hardcore gaming (at LEAST 10,000 games of starcraft logged on this baby, and at LEAST half a million CS 1.5, 1.6, and CS:S kills...)... I must have tracked this thing the equal distance as the sun is to earth by now...and I've gone through ELEVEN keyboards... but the mouse is still pullin strong!!!

Plus you can get a 3 pack of them for like 40 bucks from newegg

Highly recomended..I've never touched a lazer mouse, dont care to. I like my microsoft intelipoint optical...and don't have 70 bucks to spend on a mouse.

I've got a Logitech G5. It's smooth and accurate, plus it has fancy features like adjustable weight cartridge and 5 programmable sensitivity settings.

There are 3 things I've bought that have improved my gaming significantly; a comp that gets more than 10fps, a monitor you can actually see stuff on and the G5 mouse. The mouse was the cheapest.

It also comes with a 3 year manufacturers guarantee.

Another Logitech G5 owner and lover here.

Anyway, the way your mouse spazzes out, I would look underneath and check to make sure that the optical/laser eye isn't covered by lint or hair or something.

Reason I say that is, the other night, I was trying to move around w/ the mouse, and it wouldn't do anything more than a couple degrees of movement, anywhere. I said to myself "great, need a new mouse..." But proceeded to look underneath to look for clues as to why it stopped working.

Sure enough, there was a piece of lint just chilling in the laser eye hole, causing the laser to reference to the hair, and not the mouse pad underneath it. So a quick gust blowing the lint off, and I'm back in business.

My trusty old microsoft laser mouse 6000. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Never had a problem with it and more than sensitive enough for most people. The G5s are cool and so are the Razers, but are also the most expensive.

I got my G5 during 1 of Newegg's 1-day sale things.

It was like $34.99 + $3 shipping.

I pounced on it like the tiger on Roy.

34.99?! Make's me so jealous now, I had to pay regular price for it. *cries*

Oh yeah Bobson,
I've only had the g5 mouse for exactly a month now and it has tremendously improved my aim . Before getting the g5 I had a regular non-gaming logitech mouse that cramped my hand so much I thought I was getting carpal tunnel. I get great support from the g5 and my hand doesn't cramp at all . And the weigh thing is neato too.

Or just buy everything from MrMeII at a discounted rate when he changes his setup, AGAIN, in like 2 weeks.

MrMeII changes computer parts more than some WoW guys take showers. It's sad. But true.

Anyone need a motherboard and processor?
