Default Automatic send receive problem with Microsoft out look 2003

I have sent the outlook configurations to automatic send/receive emails for every 1 minute but for some reason it won’t work.
I have uninstalled it and then reinstalled it on to my notebook and set all the setting the same as my PC which also has automatic send/receive for 1 minute and works on the PC.
I have moved the time on the automatic send/receive form 1 all the way to 10 minutes and still nothing happens there is no error message or anything it just leaves me waiting hoping that something would happen but I get nothing.
If anyone has any ideas as to what else I could do or check that I haven’t already checked plz let me know its driving me crazy

check your firewall and anti-virus settings. it could be your firewall blocking it or your antivirus holding it up waiting for you to configure how it should treat your email program.
