Help! Computer problem

Hi guys, i decided to post on this forum cause i read some problems getting fixed...

Here's mine..

First of all - Computer Specs
3.0 Ghz Pentium D
Windows Vista
2 GB Ram
7800 GT Geforce
600 GB HD


For some reason, my counter strike (a relatively weak graphic'd game) and others such was Team Fortress, HL2, Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo II have all been laggy

But the best statistic I could give you is from Counterstrike, where I usually top at 100 FPS (99-100) before a couple months ago, and then, all of the sudden, i'm getting 20-30 and 30 choke etc.

I've tried Virus scanning, disk cleaning, but none have worked, help?

is anything running in your background? a virus scan kicking in would cause that. That or the spawnpoint ads *roll eyes*. But again, check your processes as this occurs, and does it occur on just one map? or all of them? Also, are you sure your drivers are installed properly? I'd try installing the newest.

alt tab out of hl's when it happens, then press ctrl shift esc and see what is using most cpu or memory, for me it was completely sporadic and happened whenever it wanted, and it turned out to be the vista audio rendering system
