Default Buying a Laptop for Gaming..
Looking to buy a laptop for Gaming...but I'm a little clueless as to performance in Notebook hardware these days. My current Thinkpad T40 is feeling it's age, and the 1024x768 max resolution on the 14.1 is just no good for gaming. Not to mention the Radeon 7500 with 32mb...

Anyone have a laptop with specs similar to the following: ?

Core 2 Duo T7200 or higher
2GB Ram
GeForce 8600m GT (or GS) Dedicated 512mb (or 256mb)

If so, how does that configuration perform in games such as CS:S, COD4, C&C3, BF2, and so on?

Resolution - settings - avarage FPS - operating system?

Anyone know a good gaming laptop in the 900-1200 pricerange? I prefer a 17" Widescreen

+REP for anyone who gives me some purdy benches/screenshots/fantastic review...

I'm sure a laptop of those specs should handle those games fine.. problem with laptops are that once they fall behind spec wise, thats it... you need to buy a new one.. thats why i love desktops.

I don't use laptops so i can't give a review or any pictures.. but try this link:

I saw a review yesterday on an alienware laptop running crysis on max settings and it ran it fine. Maybe look on there site. NOTE! they will get exspensive REALLLLLLLL fast teh one they showed was $4,500 but they said with $2,000 you would be able to run any game fine.

Gateway - Laptop with IntelŽ CentrinoŽ Processor Technology - P-6860FX

Those are better specs than my PC...except of course the CPU which I would replace with a T7400

i picked up a dell xps m1330 recently... it's an intel core 2 duo T9300 @ 2.50GHz, 3 gb of ram, led screen, nvidia 8400m gs

it runs cs fine...but obviously a 13 inch screen might be a tad small...but i got it for the ultraportability of it :P

this is my 4th dell laptop and it's not like they break and i have to get another one...my first dell was a p3 850 MHz, hehe and it's still alive and kicking only one of my dell's is crapping out...

Yeah Alienware is the best although there god damn expensive, and personally wouldn't spend that much just to play some games on

And a Laptop for gaming ewwwwwww, can't stand lappy's for games hehe Desktops all the way baby!

yeah you can configure that sager with Q 6700 Desktop processor, 3x 320gb hdds, and two 8800mobile gfx cards.. Insane.
