I lag alot in-game and my computer is kind of suckish. Well it does suck. I'm saving up money for a new one cause i have to buy it myself. Until i actually buy a new computer what do you guys recommend I do to lag less?

i would just make sure that I have no other programs running such as aim, vent, limewire, etc while you are playing.

Same stuff like i always say:

Run antivirus antispyware try defragging your hd maybe. Make sure no one else is using your internet, I always disconnect my bro's computer cuz he goes on to youtube and other online gaming sites and it lags up our crappy dsl sometimes. Maybe turn your antivirus off or tell it not to monitor cs cuz nod32 messes with my cs sometimes and makes me angry.

Well fate it depends on your problem. Low fps? Or high ping? If it's fps very little of what adizzle said will help. What I'd do is make sure that everything is set to minimal effects (right click on my comp, properties, hardware, advanced hardware, graphical effects, or something to that effect). Also, set it to the lowest res you can and set the quality all the way down. Other than that, there's not much you can do fps wise.

Until you buy a new computer, go pick of a stick of ram (500mbs) That can increase your Computer Speed, which will cause less lag. I have 2Gbs of ram in my Laptop and i dont lag much at all.
Its not expensive, i believe you can pick it up at a bestbuy or local computer store.

If it is fps issues look up "Casey's Config" in google and add it to your autoexec.cfg. It will lower the graphics load on the graphics card and make the game run faster. However if it is ping issues you are getting then you will have to upgrade to a better isp

It's fps issues because my ping is always at a normal number. So yeah i guess it is fps problems

in css do this
1. configure your video settings as low as possible
2. do a stress test
3. try a ratio of 16:9 at 848 x 480 res with medium settings in model detail and texture detail as well as shader at low and everything else at low except shadows
4. Repeat step 2
5. change resolution to 1280 x 960 with same ratio and settings
6. Repeat step 2
continue doing this with the different ratio and resoultion settings. when ya do the stress test do it after every change you make so you can make note of what setting changes worked best for your current computer and video card
