Vista vs XP

Is there any reason why you're arguing with me...? I posted my opinion on Vista vs. XP, which is all this thread is about... not a debate over it, so quit trying to provoke arguments.

I'm not provoking arguments... I was merely stating my own opinion. It'd be hypocritical of you to state your own opinion, and then to scold me for doing the same. The point of the last post was that OS's aren't stable on Day 1. It takes a few years of slow but steady improvements for them to be 100%. Vista is getting better, but not there yet.

Plesae remember too that Vista has only been oout for little over a year, and Xp was out for a whille. Xp had the same problems as Vista when it first came out.

me and some friends are making Vista Pen-ultimate. it will be just as 'good' as vista an take all the stuff out, putting the decent stuff from Mac software and other XP and maybe Linux stuff. gonna be hard

yeah exactly vanilla! and Dunland... why wouldn't it be okay for vista to use some features from xp? It is the next release, it should be at least similar to the previous version. Although I have to agree some features do seem "borrowed" from other OS's. Some would claim 3dflip was stolen... but mac doesn't have anything like it really. They have graphical eye candy sure, but not in that form. Compiz is more of a ripoff than windows flip. The UAC is a total linux steal..

XP was great, and they didn't bring out anything new

why?

becasue it was good enough not to be laughed at

with 98, they flopped, but recovered well with 98 Second edition, i think that that should be released

how many different types of vista are there, nobody uses the 64bit anyway, but there's basic, home, business, ultimate

I liked that XP just had two versions Pro and Home, simple; Noobs used home (not to insult) and nerds like most of us (not to insult) used pro, simple!

Freakin Vista with like 4 different version man just give me the best and quit being money hungry gates you already have enough to the point where you won't be able to spend it all.

and the real haxxors used MCE 2005. It comes with everything that pro has, but has the media center features also. It even appears as XP pro in some of the system info boxes. Plus, it was cheaper than pro. Win win situation.

I thought all you needed was a corprate serial number and xp recognizes that it's a corpate serial atleast thats what I did heh

XP had several versions, but simpler ones, nones which actually made sense

i mean, when you say basic, wtf does that mean

but when you say home, or professional, or Media, it begins to make sense
