which rig do you want me to post pics of? ;)

I've actually been thinking of stripping down both towers and switching their cases so that my main rig will be in the case I've been modding. If I do decide to work up the ambition to do this I'll take some step by step pics of the process so others who are interested in building their own machine from the ground up will have some visual reference.
oh, and I may finally have some time to work on another mod for my case tonight (if I can drag myself away from CS long enough) and I've already got the stuff for it and the camera down at my workbench (which I built myself so I'd have a decent place to do all this random crap :D). So there may be some pics on using a dremel and plexiglass to make a custom front panel/intake vent by mid week (depending on how many sheets of plexi I manage to screw up before I get it right;))

and as of last week I have my new toy to learn to use....an airbrush :D

look forward to pics of a personalized laptop once I learn how to use it!

so stuff kept coming up all week and I didn't get a chance to work on my mod at all until last night...but after close to 2 hours of dremel work the new front panel is mostly cut. If I have time on sunday I'll finish it them, but most likely I won't get to it until monday. I have some pretty good pics of the design at various point along the way as I was cutting it out, so even if I don't get to finish it on monday I'll at least upload a few of those (and maybe take a couple pics of my main rig).
After I finish that I'll start in on making a window for my side panel...and maybe see if I can find someone to take pics while I'm working to show the process instead of stopping every so often to take pics.

I'm working on a vent for the front of the case to replace the current panel. I posted a pic of the design, what it looked like clamped down under the plexi (with my beloved dremel next to it), what it looked like partly cut, and what it looks like cut out. so far I've put about 4 or 5 hours into it between modifying the design with photoshop, doing all the cutting, and startign to sand the cuts smooth. I figure another 2 hours with various files and samdpaper should finish the shaping, then I need to set it and paint it. I'll post more as I get more done. in the mean time, here's a shot of my main rig

If you guys give me a couple thousand bucks, then I could put my rig on. Until then... I use a dell laptop. Go ahead and laugh...but this baby has got 80gb memory, 1 gb of ram, and some crappy vid card. Jealous yet???

my laptop is a dell c600 with 20 gig hard drive (and a spare 10 gig) , 512 megs of RAM and an 8 meg video card....who's jealous now?;)

Mine had 40gb, 512 RAM (Single channel PC2100), and an even crappier video card (Mobility Radeon 345M IGP 8-128 Shared)
It also had a busted Pentium 4, which was stuck at 1.6GHz instead of it's rated 2.4GHz
That baby ran Source Beta at a screaming 14 FPS in the lowest possible settings

umm...my c600 is a P3 800MHZ...PC100 RAM....and the vid card is an 8MB ATI Mobility 3...no way to dedicate more RAM to it...so the few times I tried to run 1.6 on it I was getting around 10 - 15 FPS at the lowest settings
