Just a reminder to active and prospective admins that forum participation is a requirement. That's not to say you have to post every single day, but just participate in ongoing or past discussions and add something (even if it's small) to let us know you're still there (or there at all if you're looking to become an admin).

Happy Friday (zomg Friday!) and have a good weekend :)

It doesn't matter if the rule is difficult to impose or not, it's a requirement and it'll stay that way. We need to know our admins are still checking in/still there.

With all due respect Tullys, just cause you mainstream it on the announcement section, It's not gonna gonna make a difference.
So don't hold your breathe when little to no results show up.

I could actually simplify that further...

Me too Marty.....but only after I've been to see "Immortals" in 3D at the cinema

Edit: - And, Tullsy, see unless you change the "Requirement" to be an actual POST (Of which there's about as much chance as me winning the NY state lottery) then these forums will, and forever will, remain deader than the Dodo

I am excited about modding Skyrim. I actually have 3 weapon mods posted for Dragon Age in the top 10 over on the DANexus. My partner and I actually have the number 1 endorsed weapon mod there. I have enough machine to play Skyrim now too which is also exciting lol.

In all fairness Rob, most of the reason these forums are dead have to do with a VERY bad decision some years back coupled with the fact that CSS is old news and outdated now. Phil and the others try hard but it is like trying to hold an alvalanche back with your bare hands. Having BF3 and COD MW3 coming out will also spell decreased activity that the current staff will have zero control over and now that the RPGs graphics and mods are getting to be as good as the gameplay, those are stealing people away as well. I have completely switched over to RPGs like Dragon Age series, Oblivion, Mass Effect (woot! ME3 spring next year!!!) ect. and don't even play fps anymore.

I agree Marty,

I can't wait for Skyrim to come out..sorely tempted to just go the whole hog and buy a new PC to run it "properly"...I'm slowly getting back into Role Playing Games

I also agree with you regarding said BAD decision , in fact, there's been a few bad decisions that have all but killed SpawnPoints forums and servers....I agree that some people are trying hard but, to be honest and personally, when I DO play Counter Strike it's rarely, if ever on SpawnPoint.

Sad fact of life mate...........

I think there maybe hope. If any.
As you said rob CSS is practically dead and even deader on our servers. But if things work out with our SSS we could possible see maybe CS:GO servers, which if luck works with us, We could possible see a nice good amount of incoming admins.
But, i still think we should have never switched forums.

CSS is dead ? I almost daily play on a server with 50 slots and usually am on queue for 2-3 minutes before I can join said server... I'd love to create a game dead like this ;-)
SP forums are just a small part of the website, and if spawnpoint has money enough to pay for empty servers, then it must probably not go too bad for them.

On a side note, it's nice to hear from you, X. I thought you still had problems with your computer, but it seems to be working enough for you to play multiple RPG :p

Sadly i have not been getting on the servers much recently, well not at all, there is so much going on for me at the minute with work, van problems, BF3 being out and just general not getting the time, but i will be on the forums whenever i have the time. It is a sad truth that the forums have died down a lot, but it doesn't stop us trying to encourage those people who just look at them and don't post or those people who just don't bother at all to come on here to join in. How can the forums pick up if there is around 8 people who actually regularly post? (A number plucked from the sky)

The requirement is for prospective admins to post, we have to see them post to see they are on here, and so we can get to know them out of game and to see they can post constructivly and able to respond to any incidents reported. And it is always nice to see people who have admin not give up on the forums just because they got what they wanted.

As for CS:S being a dying game, i personaly agree that it is, it has been out a long time now, and now adays i have little motivation to play it, i have gotten bored with it and must need a break from the game, something that battlefield 3 is giving me. And like said with all these big releases coming up in this month and the followng it is likely that the game will get even quieter, Skyrim, MW3, Batman Arkham City (PC), Saints Row The Third, LA Noire even comes out on PC on the same day as skyrim so it is likely that people will suddenly stop.

I don't know how much hope there is in CS:GO they have no fixed release day and they say it wont be released until it is ready and the BETA players say it is ready. So it could be quite a while till we see that coming along. It would just be nice to see more of the current admins start participating more in discussions, or creating some.

Off topic Saints Row The Third is getting my time when it comes out, got it pre-ordered and i am looking forward to that bad boy. Not sure about Skyrim, it has my attention but it isn't going to be a rush purchase for me, With it being a bethesda game i think i will give it a month before buying after what happened with new vegas.

yep PC is up to snuff now. I was off for so long from gaming that my tastes had a chance to change and after someone gave me ME2 and Dragon Age came out. The 2 "Bs" are my favorite now.....BioWare and Bethesda. I have no desire to play first person shooters anymore cuz they are all just a minor variation of the last version with better graphics anyway....boring. I am only still a member of my old clan but won't be playing much with them. I still BS with them but I don't even have any of the games installed anymore, nor do I have any intension of doing so. I would be more active in the forums here if there was an active modding community for the RPGs I play here but there isn't so I am active at a site that does offer that.

No one said that Spawnpoint itself was dead, but only a blind person would say the forums aren't. It is like a ghost town with some threads having the last post be months ago. If they want the community to come back, they need to get into this decade with the games their servers are running instead of holding on to the last decade. If not, the tumbleweeds will continue to roll. You guys/gals have to admit that those UK servers are freaks given their traffic compared to CSS source servers over here. They are not the norm, they are the exception. It is something to be proud of that SP offers some of the best servers in Europe though. Congrats for that.

Maybe with some of our dead servers, we can try to change the mod to something different. I mean we can see what is "hot" on the server list so we could try to use the same mods or maps. I've made some suggestions before on the forums and with phil and shift. So, my suggestions and all that are in there somewhere.

Correction Sully, It's suppose to be relase in 2012, The Beta i'm sure isn't gonna last no more than 6 months.

One thing i would like to see is a few BF3 servers, Everyone can agree that CSS is dead as a rock and ours servers are pretty much just collection dust and wasting our fearless leader money. But, Just my thought on the matter.

EDIT: The quote system doesn't work.

I second the idea of BF3 Servers. Would totally be into playing a west coast BF3 Server.
