Some Servers Down, Blame Steam

Some of you will have noticed the UK servers and most of the West Coast servers are down. You may also notice a few non Spawnpoint servers missing from your favourites list. This is why:

Steam News

What this does is break most servers that run Linux:

ALL Linux CSS servers (Stock even) cannot start (SEG FAULT) with latest steam update - Steam Users' Forums

Good work Steam :cursing:.

What this means is that we have to wait Steam to fix or maybe find a work around. I wouldn't expect them to be back up before tomorrow.

Also the reason that (maybe) the other source ones arent down they havent updated ;-) Ive already have a rollback of the files that were changed but not sure if we want to use the old ones or wait...

Edit: if you guys want a fast response post in that thered phil linked to saying you have the same problem the'll end up listening alot faster ;-)

i have also been told that the UK 24/7 assault server doesnt work either. it may just be on my friends computer that it doesnt work. i havent tried it.

possible bad news about sourcemod/metamod not working :{ valve just recently released a update for tf2 that caused sourcemod to completly stop working the sm team was good in response and had it fixed within a day. It seems this has happened with the source update aswell. Hopefully after the fix for this broken update. Sourcemod either works out of the gates still or sourcemod team updates it quickly :/

On a note the servers that are up are running with metamod and sourcemod just fine so your admin should still work there.

Sourcemod is still working on the old binaries on my LAN backups sitting on my dedi I stuck up for testing.

If we are using the old binaries to get the servers back up I cant see any reason why sourcemod might not work. But as usual different configurations will have different results.

Yea i agree it might be a fault of them copying things wrong or something. As the current servers that are up are working fine.. (or atleast fine from waht i see on hlsw)

Servers are showing a slight light they are coming up.. but crash instantly..:( from what i read valve has a released a tiny update that is why the server atleast now come up... but i cant gurantee this as im not sure if it was an update or no since valve didnt specifically say Will keep everyone updated!
