sup, i am a new member on spawnpoint.com and i just wanted to say that i think it is just stupid to give out either your password, or your id because first of all you bought the game and thats a good 30 dollars that you just wasted because someone might hack it and change the password and also its stupid because it is

so dont do it lol
also just wanted to say that i think its cool how you get a name or classification for how many posts you have (sortve like on daspawn.com)
sup yoshi

The reason people hijack other peoples steam-accounts is not to get credit card info lol. Reason is to get steam account which can be used to "raging" ...
(Hacking, spamming, annoying, crashing servers) so they wouldnt lose their own accounts.

you got to be a bit stupid really to give away your acc details, if a valve person wanted to find out your info they wouldnt need to ask you to access your acc. Also having your steam pass wont allow anyone to "scan your comp for hacks".

Someone recently targeted me for phishing, but I called him out early on. I read through his crap about how he needed my account and pass, and to log out immediately so "they can assess my account." I've been harassing "Mike C." now, who originally showed up as "Steam Account Verification." He added me as a friend, so I was able to check out his own steam profile, and sure enough, he's from Wisconsin... funny how Valve and Steam are located in Washington state. I've been giving him friendly reminders whenever hes online that I've opened a claim with him, and tend to see it through.

Exclamation Possible Phishing Attempt

OK, I was at home for my lunch, and got a really weird PM from someone in my Steam Friends list, with a message about 'steam gold pak for free' and included a hyper link (which I will not be including in the image below). DO NOT CLICK ON THE HYPER LINK IF YOU GET A MESSAGE SIMILAR TO THIS!!!

I haven't clicked it, but I am willing to bet it will somehow obtain your account information (via Logger/Trojan).

Also, here to the left is a list of names that I see this individual goes by....DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

I got that same message and gave him my steam acc name but decided against giving the password. I didn't think that was possible since I didn't install my Steam games on other computers yet and my default gateway IP never changes. I checked on steam; scammer.......

There is no reason why anyone should be dumb enough to fall for this scam. You realize when LOGGING INTO STEAM, they ALREADY HAVE YOUR ID AND PASSWORD. hence the "your pw does not match with the account". The PW you enter has to be the same as the PW they already have in their system database. OTHERWISE YOU COULDN"T LOG IN.
