Boring!

I haved noticed lately that more players on Counter Strike are actually becoming bored with to muchof the"Dust map" I say that includes Dust 2 as well. A lot of guys dont want to play the other maps because thye cant keep their stats high that way. Whats your opinion?.

Phwoarrrrrr @ dust & dust2 (ok dust gets a little boring if the T's dont rush with you and camp TSpawn all the time) they are great maps!

OK OK, no one says they are not great maps...but 24-7 ? Some guys play them so much they just shoot at fixed locations knowing someonemay be there. Combat is not like that. You may as well just play scrabble.

I used to only play dust2, mostly because my monitor had terrible max brightness so I couldn't see anything on most of the other maps, even the tunnels on dust2 were too dark. I still play it more than any other map, it just seems like you have more freedom of movement than the other maps.

I do find some players on dust2 really annoy me though. They always buy the same weapon, they always play the same team and they always do the same thing. And they're not new to the game, they are good players but so so dull. Now they are boring.

It's actually quite true.

People playing the same maps over and over get to the stage where they KNOW where to stand, when to fire, where to watch etc etc and as said they play the same team using the same stratagies over and over........oh how dull

We actually played on East 2 yesterday and some bright spark had the idea for all the T's to try the "Double Duallies" rush. It was the funniest thing to happen on that server for ages! Duallies for the win

Perhaps people should "try" some of the old maps again (compound, de_train, de_nuke, havanna) you might be surprised at how much fun they are [:-]

Although Ancient you hit it right on the head. Too many people play this game worrying about their ranks and scores

As much as I like Dust 2, part of the reason I've been playing gun game so much recently is because the maps are different from what I'm used to. Personally, I think it's a lot of fun to play on new maps and get to know the layout rather than just play the same one or two maps all the time. When I was still playing 1.6 all the time I loved going into the fy_only server and throwing out votes for maps I had never even heard of just so we could all try something different (admittedly, some were crap and we all agreed never to play them again, but others became insanely popular). I know I would love to have a server that is entirely custom (or at least different than standard rotation) maps.

It's fun to play other maps at times. I dont say do not play the popular maps. That doesnt make sense but a little diversity is better for all. The real good players can play anywhere. The Dust whores (i thought that up by myself) feel insecure and RTV right away to get back to Dust. So many of the Source maps have great graphics (besides the dust maps) and are just not being taken advantage of.

i believe it would be good to have a more diverse rotation. it gets boring playing the same maps over and over, and people camping the same places over and over, its like watching a demo eventually. Some say ther is "rtv", well this requiresalmost allplayers to agree, as apposed to a majority(please correct me if im wrong).
