A SpawnPoint Legend Has Passed...

December 1, 2007 the man who played the role of son, husband, police officer, father, mentor, and legend has passed.

We all knew him as "The Ancient Admin". Many of us knew him as "Pops".. and others simply "Dad".

More details may be released shortly, but in the mean time we felt it was important that the community know that a man who was brave enough to defend the city streets of NYC, to raise a hellion like Scro, and to be a friend to all of us has passed on after a struggle with age and illness.

He is survived by a wonderful wife, two sons, a daughter, and numerous grand-children.

Ancient - We will miss you. It seems someone has finally permanent banned you for camping!!

We love you.

- Shane

So sorry to hear that. I loved reading his take on gaming and things in general, he made me laugh a lot. It was a pleasure to have met him, even if was just on a forum.

My condolences to the Ancient family.

I like the commemorative banner.

My thoughts go with a legend, he always was happy to be around. NEVER had anything bad to say, he will always be in my heart, as a good friend.

Rest well, ancient warrior.

Our server hasn't been the same since you last stopped playing ancient. We'll miss your voice, your jokes, and your camping. You were quick to ban the awp and take us all to office, whether we wanted to go or not. And no matter how badly you played, you were always a happy guy to have in the server. I'm so glad to have gotten the chance to get to know you, and I speak for many of us when I say we can't wait to become a gaming grandpa/ma.

Rest in peace my friend.

I met Ancient a few times, and played CS with him for years. He was a very funny man. I'm not sure many of you understood exactly how ancient he was. He was a grandfather (60some at the time I met him), and was playing on the PHXX team years ago when PHXX was nothing more than a buncha us geeks working at a banking software company. I'm pretty sure he was at a LAN party we had once. It was a blast. He raised a fine family and I'm lucky to have met him.

My deepest sympathies to his family. But we should not be saddened. This was a man worth remebering fondly, and we should raise a glass to his humor and spirit. Ancient should be remembered with a smile and a laugh.

That's how I'm doing it, anyway :)
