Default Help your hardrive.

Memory is like Viagra. When I got my new computer some time back it ran fast and strong. Now it needs more memory to stay efficient. It still works and does the job but it needs a little boost. It doesn’t happen all at once but one day....sure enough... That Hardrive needs a little help.

Try reformatting it, even defragging it should help if you don't want to go through the hassle of reformatting

I second that. It might be a good idea to defrag your HD. MS has an defrag app. built into XP but I have heard some horor stories of people using it. I would recommend using a non-MS defragger.

Also as a supplement to this a registry mechanic may be a good idea. A good one that I use is made by www.PCtools.com it is called "Registry Mechanic." Simple enough right? The scans are quick and they pick up a ton of registry problems that it will fix.

As for the memory post here what speed the memory is i.e. DDR 400 (PC 3200). If you dont know off hand open up your box and locate the memory and read what is says on the side. It should say something like that above. If you cant read the side of the stick it may be necessary to remove the memory for a sec to get a better look. I know you arent a "techy" but this is managable. When you have found the speed post here and tell me how much more memory you want also if you want some honkin' stuff or just value memory that will plain old work. When I find the one that is best for you I will post the proper memory for the Ancient Admin.

Reformatting means you lose everything one the drive lol. I don't think Ancient wants that.

Well if you actually do need new memory and you want to find out what you have inside you dont have to open up your PC.
Just go here http://www.crucial.com/store/listmfgr.asp?cat=RAM choose laptop or desktop then your make then model. It will say what kind i.e. DDR400 (PC3200) after that go to newegg and look for memory and you will get a better deal. Dont get me wrong Crucial is great memory just newegg is the place to go for a deal.
