First off, if you approach a girl as a friend, and not with "other intentions" in order to get to know her, you will be a lot better off. Relationships that start with a strong basis in friendship tend to have more of a fighting chance than those based on physical attraction alone.
Now - as I type this - I realize that you are only 14 and long term relationship is probably the last thing on your mind.
To help you meet girls and be able to talk to them...
Be yourself - your real self - not the person you portray on these forums (i.e. lose all the big talk about drinking and smoking weed
)
Don't put yourself down - have a little confidence in yourself. If you talk badly about yourself, you will project that attitude.
Remember - 14 year old girls are just as unsure of themselves as you are. You are at a really tough age!!
Enjoy being a kid - you will have to grow up way too soon.
One last thought - never underestimate the charm of a "crooked smile"!!
