Let me answer your question I quoted above by telling you how I spent my vacation last week. I was in the woods for a week with my son and 11 other boys from his Scout troop at summer camp. I was sleeping in a tent, cooking over a fire (or on a camp stove) and I only took a shower twice during the week.
So yes, there are girls that do enjoy that kind of thing. I happen to be an assistant scoutmaster for a Boy Scout Troop, but I love being outdoors anyway.
While you mention that you could understand having a problem finding girls that share your interests in a city versus your small town, I believe your small town may just be your problem. If you were in a larger town or city, you would be exposed to a much larger cross-section of the population. You would have the opportunity to meet people with varying interests. You would even meet city-folk who like to rough it in the woods!!
As far as meeting someone with common interests...I would look around in your town or maybe nearby towns for clubs or groups that meet for fishing, camping, etc. While you will find that there are a lot of guys in them, there will be some girls as well.
