Friendly fire is a part of war. The fact that so FEW have died from FF is an amazing accomplishment. Estimates of FF deaths in Vietnam were in the thousands.

People talk through their arses about the war. We have lost fewer soldiers to enemy fire and friendly fire than any previous war, and there are been fewer civilian deaths than any previous war. Additionally, we've had fewer casualties than any previous war. This is a testament to the superiority of our military.

The problems in this war aren't US tactics, it is that we have foreign fighters coming in a stirring the pot. They attack Iraqis, Americans, and anyone else to insure instability. The violence now is primarily foreign and sectarian.

Sadly, once we leave, it will get even worse as the power vaccum starts an all out civil war between Sunis, Shias and Kurds. The civil war was inevitable regardless. As soon as Saddam died, the civil war would have started on a large scale.
