It's a fairly straightforward method to view your demos.
When you are not playing in a server bring up your console and type "playdemo xxxx" (xxxx being the name you gave the demo you want to watch)
It should load up and start playing as its recorded.
When it starts bring up the console (this should then show you the list of players and steam id's as you should have typed "status" in the console when you were recording the demo).
Another good tool is if you type "demoui" in your console it brings up a small box that allows you to pause, slow down, speed up and such your demo that you are watching.
