I really don't see any privacy issues with telling someone who sent in a demo what the outcome was. I think it's just polite to let people know if the demo that they took the time to record and submit has resulted in someone being banned, plus it can help them identify cheats in the future to know if what they thought was a cheat actually was.
It is a great help when players and admins send in demos that help keep our servers as cheat free as possible, and I feel that replying to those that submitted demos will encourage them to keep recording cheats.
