RE: Administrator Abuse
In response to Sapphire: That was really just a minor point and I was simply going off of what Ghost posted after me. Assuming you are right, which is possible, I don't know all of your rules, it doesn't make too much of a difference. I only made that point to show that there is somethind strange in the behavior of the admin. It's just odd when someone arbitrarily changes the rules of a server, just like its odd when someone bans a player after watching them for such a short period of time. Bans like that are reserved for obvious cheaters (speedhackers, etc). Its impossible to judge "anti-recoil" so quickly.
cpnichol: Here's the thing, somewhere along the way, someone, and it could be me, is missing some kind of information. I don't know where "at least 6 [demos]" could have possibly come from. Was the map even six rounds into the game? And even if it was, Catguy was using an AWP, so of course there would be no recoil. I think the demos need to be seriously reconsidered without a bias. It's not even me that got banned and I feel strongly enough in the opposite direction to come onto the forums on someone else's behalf and talk about it.
I realize that you have an anti-cheat team that works to remove cheaters. Catguy isn't one of them. So that we can all understand this situation, could you please provide information about these 6 demos.
Speaking from experience, I've seen Catguy do terribly firsthand. Anyone who plays on that server consistantly has seen it. Everyone has a good and bad day, that doesn't imply cheating. If he was cheating, his cheats would have had to have been downloaded a while ago. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense that he continues playing on the same server. Its not typical behavior for a cheater to hop servers when they find one that accepts their "high skill level." Yet, in all that time, nobody complained about Catguy. Only a nameless admin who watched him play with an AK47, for what, two rounds?
Something tells me the ban wasn't about six demos, but more about a personal issue.
