Phishing for you ID and password***NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR STEAM PASSWORD!***
Well folks, some fool just tried to phish for my steam information using steam friends chat.
It was something to the effect of multiple ip's detected or something and that the account was in danger of being shut down....It actually looked halfway legit. It wanted my account name and password to verify I was the correct user. This made me immediately suspisious. I assumed that it was automated and imagine my surprisewhen "the steam update team" actually aswered me when I said "why would that matter"? After some technical sounding BS, he said to verify that my account hadn't been hijacked (lol the nerver there) that I would need to enter my user name and password. After I told them that right at the top of their communication it said "don't give your password out to anyone" and that he would have to prove to me that he was who he said he was, he typed some other BS about being on the steam trusted list. I said I needed to verify and he amazing was gone....
Hopefully none of you have fallen prey to this scam. Steam, I am told, would never contact you in this fashion. Take the steam advice at the top of chat and never give out your password.
