As i understand it, millions of these theoretical particals hit us every day anyway. And the "black holes" the scare mongers have us worrying about are just as much a daily occurrence as me starting up steam. They want to find the smaller bits that aren't in this part of the universe any more. And understand them to further our knowladge and technology, thus making it a better world for everyone to live in. But the bottom line is, weather we like it or not, they are whizzing particles around this big-collider at near to 12,000 laps per second and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it
just sit back and enjoy the ride. On the upside, if the world does end... it will probably be instantanious!
