It seriously sounds like you never clean your desk/mouse area, and dust bunnies collect and get into all your mice.
If you have a hair or dust collecting where the optical or laser reading beam is, your mouse will freak out.
I've had a hair get stuck on the laser eye on my G5, and it literally just froze. Nothing I did (moving it slow or fast) did anything on screen. So I picked it up and looked underneath it, and yup, there was a hair just sitting there. Blew it off and it was good as new.
