Who are the Top 10 Most Influential People in Gaming History? Who gets to pick? (I do)

>> Return to the Top 10 Most Influential People in Gaming History <<

#7 Minh Le and Jesse Cliffe Notables: Counter-Strike 100K+ playing all day, all the time, every day - including Christmas and Easter

Minh Le was born in 1978 . Jeff Cliffe was born in 1998.

In 1999, Minh and Jesse developed the Counter-Strike modification of the Half-Life game.  Minh Le spent more time working on the Counterstrike mod then he did studying and attending classes concurrently at Simon Fraser University (where he did eventually get his Computer Science degree).  In 2000 he was hired by Valve Software where Counter-Strike became an official piece of their offering.  Jesse still works at Valve Software as level and game design.

Weird Facts: Minh Le is known as ‘Gooseman’ online. In 2003, GameSpy attributed Minh Le as the reason Half-Life was still popular 5 years later.
Jesse Cliffe is the "voice" of Counter-Strike (radio commands, voice commands).
#8 Warren Robinett - Notables:  Atari+Adventure+Easter eggs

1952 - Still alive.
Warrant Robinett is a designer of interactive computer graphics software, notable as the developer of Adventure, the first graphical adventure video game.  Though a simple game that required a Joystick with a very narrow set of options, still Adventure was a hit upon its 1978 release, and eventually sold a million copies.

Weird facts: Atari designers at the time were not given credit for their games, in fear of headhunters. In response to this, Robinett placed in a hidden object in the game that would allow the player to reach a hidden screen which displayed the words "Created by Warren Robinett," hence creating the first known Easter egg used in a video game.
