Simple Rules for SpawnPoint Servers »

Authored by SpawnPoint on 2007-10-03 09:06:36

No cheating/hacking
• No discrimination/racism
• No glitching the game or maps
• No disrespect towards any other player or admin
• No swearing, or using any swear as part of your name
• No intentional team killing or hostage killing
• No spamming grenades/microphone/etc
• No inappropriate sprays

These rules are easy to follow, and when followed by all users will result in a more enjoyable game for all. Read on for a brief description of each of the above rules.

No Cheating/Hacking

Any user found guilty of using any third-party applications to gain advantage (otherwise
known as Hackers) will be permanently removed from all SPAWNPOINT.COM servers,
and in time all STEAMBANS servers. SteamBans currently runs on over 5,000 servers.
This means, if found hacking on a SPAWNPOINT.COM server, you will be permanently
banned from all 5,000 SteamBans protected servers.

There is no excuse for using cheats in a game. You are welcome to visit our site and protest your ban, but please do so in a mature manner. We will not respond to complaints with more swears than words. Keep complaints clean and professional and we will do our best to accommodate.

No Discrimination or Racism

SPAWNPOINT.COM has a ZERO TOLLERANCE policy against this behavior. We fully warrant a ban or even a global ban for offenders of this. Discrimination based on Religion, Skin Color, Sex, Ethnicity and anything else that may fit into this category will not be tolerated. If you are found breaking this rule, your punishment is left to the
discretion of the Admin on duty at the time.

No Glitching the Game or Map

Using map ‘glitches’ to gain advantage will not be tolerated in SPAWNPOINT servers. Any location on a map that allows you to see other users without being seen by them is
considered a glitch. For example, climbing the buildings in Assault is considered glitching. Exploiting these glitches may result in a kick or temp ban from the server.

No Disrespect towards any other Player or Admin

SPAWNPOINT.COM is a organization built on respect for others. If there were no respect, there would be no servers. Please maintain a mature attitude in our servers, and on the forums. A little respect does in fact go a long way at SPAWNPOINT.COM.

Do not flame admins for a decision on a map change, or if your friend got kicked for some reason. Any complaints you have should be discussed in our Forums, not the servers. We understand games can get frustrating, but please keep in mind it is just a game, and your frustration can end with the click of your mouse. If you feel you need to explode with anger and start calling everyone in the server names, don’t. Press your [ESC] key, click the ‘QUIT’ button, and go outside or watch TV. If you are kicked or banned for disrespect, that is your own fault. Disrespect is not something that can be done ‘by accident’. You are responsible for anything you say within the server.

No swearing, or using a Swear in your Name

All of our servers currently have a Swear Filter. It is there for a reason. Do not dodge the filter by purposely misspelling words so they are not changed, or adding spaces between the letters. If you type “son of a *****!”, everyone knows what you mean. There is NO reason to retype it with spaces.

Names with swears are not detected by the swear-filter. You are not to wear any swearor discriminatory words as your name in any SPAWNPOINT.COM server. Anyone who decides to use the F-word in their name is eligible for an immediate ban. You may be banned for breaking this rule. These servers are not “adult only” servers… children DO play the game. Set a good example and keep your language clean please.

No Intentional Teamkilling or Hostage killing

Your teammates are on your side. Don’t kill them. A stray bullet may hit one of them from time to time, that’s understandable, but pointing right at them… pausing… and then spraying at their face is not. You will be kicked or banned for intentionally killing teammates.

Same goes for the hostages. Terrorists found killing the hostages then running out the clock will be kicked from the server. Counter-Terrorists found killing the hostages to make life easier will also be kicked. Those hostages are on the map for a reason. It is not a FY map, or death match map, but rather it is a CS map. Complete your objective. Hostages have families too you know...

No Spamming

Spamming can be a major annoyance. Saying, “Go! Go! Go,” twenty seven times will not make your team go faster, it will make them break the above rule and shoot you in the face. Don’t use the voice commands to annoy others on your team.

Grenade spamming is also a big annoyance in some maps. No person can carry 52 grenades in a real-life situation. This will lag and empty the server in some cases, do
not spam grenades.

Players found spamming will be either muted, or slayed, or kicked. Depending on the
admin present at the time.

No Inappropriate Sprays

Using pornographic, racist, or any other inappropriate sprays can get you banned from
the server. Sprays are there so you can slap your name next to a dead enemy, or under the bomb to mark its location better. Sprays are not to be used for perverse reasons. Most spray rulings, are left to the discretion of the attending admin.

Please note that there are also server-specific rules. 24/7 assault servers, for example,
do not allow “Upper Vent” camping. If the server you are playing in has any serverspecific rules, you will see them show up on the screen from time to time. You can always ask other users in the server what the rules are.

Please visit SpawnPoint.com on a regular basis as these rules can be revised at any time. Support your community and visit the forums.

It is a privilege, not a right to have access to the SpawnPoint.com network. Use  this privilege wisely, and we’ll all have a great time!
