XBOX ANNOUNCES LINE-UPS FOR SUMMER PARTIES SET TO GET IBIZA ROCKING
London, July 2008: The partnership between Xbox 360™ and Ibiza Rocks Hotel sees another exciting development for anyone planning to party on the White Isle this summer, as the line-ups for the highly anticipated ‘Xbox Weekenders’ are revealed. And, if that wasn’t enough, Xbox is delighted to announce that there will be an extra ‘Weekender’ taking place in August to ensure that anyone out in the Balearic Island of Sin this summer can get involved in the fun.
As the Ibiza party season gets into full swing, the first Xbox Weekender will be taking place at Ibiza Rocks Hotel from July 18th-20th, and will see one of 2008’s most talked about bands, The Whip, taking centre stage on the Saturday night. Fresh from rocking Glastonbury last weekend, the Mancunian group are no strangers to playing major events and are set to take the roof off as they make their Ibiza debut at the peak of the season. Supporting The Whip on the July event is a blistering line up of up and coming artists including OK Tokyo, Esser, Filthy Dukes and the Discolexia Crew who will see guests at the San Antonio Hotel partying into the early hours.
In addition, fans of the Xbox 360 game Rock Band will also have the chance to rock out their on-stage fantasies the day before, on Friday 18th July, as part of the ‘Xbox 360 presents Rock Band Live’ tour, for the chance to win an all expenses paid trip to Ibiza and to live the lifestyle of a rock star for a week.
Whilst dates and line-ups for the August event are still TBC, the September Xbox Weekender, taking place from 12th - 14th is set to be a gripping climax to the season with quirky rockers Mystery Jets headlining.
The Xbox Weekenders form part of the Xbox summer of music activity covering music festivals, exclusive gigs and special events to celebrate the fact that players can download cutting edge music videos (and movies) on Xbox LIVE.
Inside the new Ibiza Rocks Hotel, guests can enjoy the ‘Xbox Social’, the perfect place to experience the latest games, music and movies available on Xbox 360, complete with comfy couches and quirky extras. Throughout the hotel, Xbox 360 kiosks are on hand to play all the latest games, and for those who can’t make it out of their rooms after a particularly heavy night’s clubbing, there is also a concierge service available where the Xbox team will set up consoles and games in people’s rooms completely free.
On the top floor of the 368 room hotel, you can find the ‘Xbox Penthouse’ – a premium quality apartment complete with sunset balcony, where all the bands playing at Ibiza Rocks Hotel have been staying during their time on the island. It is also been acting as a luxury safe haven for VIPs and celebrities throughout the season.
