What is rare and beautiful is generally coveted. Rare and beautiful gems have long been coveted by peoples dating back as far as Egypt, and to a certain extent even before that, but in Myth War II Online (http://mw2.igg.com)  gems are coveted for very different reasons. It’s not that they’re rare, or that they are hard to find - really they couldn’t be easier to find, with almost every stall having them up for sale - it’s the power inside that makes them valuable, and the most powerful gems can command huge sums of cash, as well as provoking fierce territorial disputes among guilds controlling gem deposits.

What is it exactly that gems do to cause such strife? If they can’t be fitted onto earrings to make the ultimate bling, why are they so valuable? This question misses the mark, but makes a good point. They can’t be fitted onto earrings, but they can be fitted onto necklaces, armor, weapons and other gear pieces. And although they probably make the gear more blingy, it’s not the shiny gems that will be blinding players but the outrageous stat enhancements that they provide.

There are 9 mining sites spread out over the desert regions and other wastelands, with 7 being exclusive to guild members only. The other 2 are public mines that can get a tad crowded with over eager prospectors at times. However, with all the digging going on, it was almost inevitable that a large vein of arcane gems would be discovered in these two mines eventually. With the prospect of getting high level gems better than ever, now is the time to bust out the ol’ pick axe and head into the desert.

10 miners will be spawned every hour, and fighting with them may reward players with high level gems, but will also raise the evil index (in the stats window). So head on over to Desert City or Demon Square and to try your luck, you never know what you might find!
