Introducing the Eleven Ship Types of East India Company

Haarlem, the Netherlands – January 15, 2009 - I bet you were not always hanging on to your history teacher’s every word, but you must have heard of the biggest trading companies there ever were: East India Companies! Can you imagine yourself to be a commander of immense fleets, to sail the world and to earn a fortune through trade and warfare? With the release of the new real-time strategy PC experience East India Company later this year, this will all become reality again. Manage, Rule, and Fight!

There is only one problem… you know absolutely nothing about ships! Therefore, we decided to help you out on all the history lessons you missed.

East India Company contains eleven different ship types, ranging from small and fast sloops to lumbering galleons and ship-of-the-line vessels. These different types are suitable for different roles, like short and long range trading, patrol, war, invading ports and much more. We will introduce one ship every week, so that you will be fully prepared in time.
