Overview

By the creator of Alice, this game is set in the world of L. Frank Baum's classic novels, but during an earlier, darker time.

Cancelled PC game from the twisted mind that reinvented the "Alice In Wonderland" tale as a freak show nightmare. Based on L. Frank Baum's beloved children's novel, the game was conceived as a prequel to the original stories, taking gamers through skewed versions of the Lands of Oz terrorized by war and devastation. The developer cancelled the title in early 2004. After shopping the title to various publishers, McGee learned that because Oz was not an established franchise, it would not be a guaranteed hit, and that was a risk no one was willing to take. American McGee has decided to build the Oz franchise from the top down. The characters, world, and style of the game are all fairly well developed, and a movie deal is in the works. McGee figures that since movie tie-ins are the hot thing for game publishers, if he can make Oz into a movie first, it will be an easy sell to finally make the game
